Book Angel

The Hampton Library has many traditions which truly remind us that our small community has a big heart. Our annual Book Angel Project invites you to purchase a new book for a student in our local schools. The books are wrapped and delivered to the schools before winter break. Our patrons never let us down when it comes to being a book angel.

26th Annual Holiday Open House and Tree Lighting

Our 26th Annual Holiday Open House and Tree Lighting will be held on Saturday, December 7th beginning at 2:00 pm. This is easily my favorite Hampton Library tradition. We hope you can join us for cookies, cocoa, cider and a special visitor from the North Pole, thanks to our friends at the Lions Club.

Falconry with Chris Paparo

We have lots of exciting programs for all including a lesson on Falconry with Chris Paparo and his red tailed hawk, Emmie. A dramatic reading of Christmas classics with actor and audiobook narrator, Gerard Doyle. We also have an exciting series of Shakespeare classes. To complement this new series, we will be showing Hamptons DocFest film McB in January.

Black History Month

February is Black History Month and we have many programs planned including a performance by musician Napoleon Revels-Bey, a screening of An Evening with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and back by popular demand a presentation on Soul Food followed by a buffet supper. We will end the month with a Hamptons DocFest screening of All Me: The Life and Times of Winfred Rembert with the filmmaker. Check out our adult programs for more information.

Please note that the 2019/20 Winter issue of The Link will be the last issue mailed to your P O Box. The Board of Trustees’ decision was made as part of our initiative to be a more sustainable institution. By printing fewer copies & only providing copies at the Library, we are reducing our costs and our carbon footprint.

See you soon at the Library.
