From The Director’s Desk

A Meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held Wednesday, April 15 at 3:30 pm. This meeting will be held virtually. Please email kharris@hamptonlibrary.org for "call in" information.
As I look out my office window at the Library’s snow covered lawn it is hard to believe spring is almost upon us. But as poet Percy Bysshe Shelley once said “If winter comes, can spring be far behind?”
Thank you to our community members who attended both in person and virtual charrettes to discuss the renovation of the main floor and lower level of the Library. Your input is both meaningful and valuable and your suggestions will be integrated to the best of our ability.

As we all continue to adapt to COVID 19 pandemic living (and the fatigue that comes with it), I am happy to report the Library is taking small steps forward to provide some very small, registration required, socially distanced, masked programming for families and teens. Strict protocols will be in place and enforced. This will only work if those participating follow the rules. Our hope is to work together to provide opportunities for a little bit of “normal.”
Adult programs will continue to be offered virtually. We hope with the distribution of vaccines it will be safe to offer some in person programs for adults this fall.
This year we will be offering two $1,000 scholarships to a Bridgehampton and Sagaponack graduating high school student in memory of Librarian Amy Wahl. Please check out our Young Adult page for more information on how to apply.
See you soon at the Library.!
